How close is Langford to other filming infrastructure?

Langford is just 25 minutes from downtown Victoria and 35 minutes from Victoria International Airport. Local accommodation, gear rentals, talent, and post-production support are all within reach. Plus, a new purpose-built studio facility is in development to further boost local capacity.

BC FILM AND TAX CREDIT

What is the BC Production Services Tax Credit?

The BC Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC) is a refundable tax credit for accredited production corporations that incur eligible labor costs for film and television production in British Columbia. It’s available to both domestic and international producers.

Does Langford qualify for regional tax credits?

Yes! Langford is located outside Vancouver’s designated core, which makes productions here eligible for the Regional Tax Credit Bonus—an additional incentive that helps reduce your production costs even further.

What types of productions are eligible?

Most scripted film and television projects are eligible, including feature films, documentaries, lifestyle programs, animation, and VFX-heavy productions. Commercials and digital content may also qualify depending on the circumstances.

How do I apply for the tax credit?

Applications are handled through Creative BC and the BC Ministry of Finance. Our film liaison team in Langford is available to connect you with the right contacts and help you understand the paperwork involved.

Are there any local incentives beyond the provincial tax credit?

While Langford does not currently offer a municipal tax credit, the City supports productions through streamlined permitting, waived or reduced fees in some cases, and in-kind logistical assistance.
